Energy check

Another increasingly rare dip into the soaks of what lies upwards of Asia's Himal. Despite the cold gripping the region, many photo's feature the lush greenery of seasons past.

Above from the Far East of Russia, on the Kamchatka peninsula. Most probably Verkhne-Paratunka hot spring. The text basically notes there are two kinds of soaks on Kamchatka: enhanced with other visitors likely. Or non-enhanced, with chances of complete privacy. User has quite a few soaking related photo's on her account.
Then another Kamchatka soaking experience:

Following by the looks of it another nice soak, this time from Buryatia.

Горячие источники Хойто-Гол, незабываемые ощущения особенно ночью греться и смотреть на звёзды, когда рядом шумит горная речка #хойтогол #окинскийрайон #бурятия
I put some extra effort in looking the above up.
If I hark back to my original post (Going Baikal) I've made references as towards soaks in / or near Khoyto-Gol (Russian: Хойто-Гол).
Additional info from Highlights of Okinsky Region:
'Khoyto-Gol Warm Springs
In Buryat language means "Hot River". Nice spot on the bank of Arshan creek near the junction of Khoyto-Gol river, where hot waters spring out from under boulders to surface. They count about ten sources with temperature from +29 to +33 degrees of Celcium. The water is not pleasant for taste, sharply smells sulphur, but really perfect for bathing. It was used since old times by local hunters as a place to rest and take curative baths. Surrounded with wonderful taiga forest, filled with wildlife, now it is utilized by local population as a spa village since the administration of the region raised good wooden cabins and bungolows there, built bath facilities as well. Firewoods supplied by trucks periodically. It has no stable dwellers there, yet till the end of July it is usually overcrowded, and all the cabins are occupied'.

Over to India.

The above refers to a soak in Ladakh, again I looked at my own references (Of Amchis and Soaks on Prescription), but fail to delve up a name to attach to what looks like a great soak.

Following are more easier to designate: Tatwani (below) and Kheerganga. Both H.P..
Is it just me or is Kheerganga seeing (too?) much more soakers?

Stress less and enjoy the best 🤘
Well, the entire Kheerganga trek was full of adventures and misadventures. But finding these hot springs on the top was such a bliss. The kheerganga hot springs are really clean, the section is well separated and entirely enclosed for females, the water temperature so apt that it feels like a proper jacuzzi. I actually did my first skinny dipping inside this, was so blessed to have no other people around that I don’t know how my couple of hours flew by.
Bliss ❤️

More info on India.
Traveltraingle has an article (Apr. 19) on no less than 22 hot springs:
'It’s no surprise that we often find almost no mention of hot springs even in the most talked about travel experiences. So, here we are to break the stereotype by letting you know about some Indian states that boast of some of the most famous hot springs in India located at attractive tourist places'.

Singa Tatopani, Nepal (シンガタトパニ・ネパール)
Noel is off today☺️ Instead, let me upload hot springs in the world♨️
It was on the last day of my 2 week long trekking around Annapurna. Really good quality one☺️
Moving westwards, the above not the usual hot spring(s) from Nepal but Singa Tatopani, a bit off the main tourist route but well-known by locals.
The following is just one of a couple pictures on an article highlighting the hot springs of Sikkim (Drive 2 Northeast; Feb. 13):
'Sikkim is blessed with many hot springs and the locations of these hot springs are so unpredictably beautiful. The hot spring is a gift from nature to us and the way they are naturally formed is a real art. Your visit to Sikkim can be considered incomplete if you do not take a deep warm dip into one of these hot springs.
Sikkim has many hot springs and they are popularly known for their therapeutic value because of its high content in Sulphur, the waters are believed to have great medicinal properties with the average temperature close to 50c'.
'Borong hot springs are natural spas located at Borong near Ravangla, these hot springs are popularly known as Ralang Cha-chu and Borong Cha-chu. Both of these hot springs are situated along the banks of the Rangit River. To reach Ralang Cha-chu you have to walk downhill for about an hour to the Rangit valley from the Ralang monastery and Borong Cha-chu is a 7 km drive from Ralang and further downhill walk.
Temporary huts are available at nominal rates for overnight stays but all bedding and cooking utensils have to be carried along. During the peak hot spring season, there will be small shops selling vegetables and other basic necessities and the locals sell dairy products. Visitors spend days and more soaking in these magical hot springs which are believed to have therapeutic power to cure many diseases.
Surrounded by carpeted hills all around and guided by various exciting trails with amazing views this place is perfect for nature lovers. The best time to visit the hot springs are from December to February'.
Tidrum Nunnery (Terdrom Nunnery) with its medicinal hot springs has a great location in a narrow gorge (Rep-chu) at the confluence of two streams, located at an altitude of 4325m. The entire valley is festooned with prayer flags. The small nunnery has strong connections to Yeshe Tsogyal, the wife of the 37th King of central Tibet Trisong Detsen and consort of Guru Rinpoche. The Kandro-la, the resident spiritual leader of the nunnery, is considered a reincarnation of Yeshe Tsogyal.
The delightful #tidrum #hotsprings are surrounded by wooden canopies and there are separate men’s and women’s pools. It is said to be rich in minerals, including sulphur, coal, bitumen and limestone.
There is a pilgrimage route high into the mountains, leading to the Secret Cave of Yeshe Tsogyal called Kiri Yangdzong. At 5060m, the cave is accessed via a 15m ladder.

And a reference by nomadasaurus who has an article (Mar. 29) on hiking and hot springs near Altyn Arashan (Kyrgyzstan). Based from the hot spring, the author braves the elements, potential alcohol-posioing while traversing the surroundings.

Big dreams

There's no better place for yoga 🖤#WHPdreambig #yoga #snow #hotsprings #northsikkim #incredibleindia
While the northern hemisphere of Asia (basically everything) currently is experiencing it's summer, lets look at even hotter places to enjoy: hot springs of Himal (and more).

Spiced up with some photo's.

Ah, the above from the former independent Himalayan kingdom of Sikkim, now incorporated in India, probably at the end of Yumthang valley.

Just a short hop westwards, across the border, you'll end up in Bhutan:

The time to relax is when you don't have time for it~ Sydney J Harris.

Peachy
But let's start with some news.

China Daily (May 5) mentions how soaking tourism is assisting Tibetan efforts at income generation:
'Born into a poverty-stricken household in Dagdong village, the Tibet autonomous region, Kelsang Jampa never imagined that one day he would own a new house with a neat courtyard.
...
Tourists camp in front of the ruins of Tsangyang Gyatso's manor, visit the 900-year-old peach tree there and look around the ancient temples in the village'.
Ok, so what has hot springs to do with this? The article adds:
'The regional government hopes that by the end of 2020, all farmers and herdsmen engaged in tourism will be able to earn an average annual income of 16,000 yuan.
"This year, we will spend 90 million yuan to build a hotel and a hot spring resort," said Tobgye, head of the township.
It is estimated that Dagdong will receive 150,000 tourists this year, bringing 40,000 to 60,000 yuan in revenue for each family'.
So not natural? Or natural but currently non-existent? I couldn't find any other references, so I'm a bit unsure.
What the above does spell out, is how China (and with it many other Asian governments) hopes hot springs bring in money. Little conservation.

Below elsewhere (?) in Tibet:

The Economic Times reports (Jul. 27) on the political struggle:
'China and India have jockeyed for centuries over the Himalayas. The Chinese military invaded Tibet in 1950. India granted asylum to the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader, in 1959. Three years later, the two countries fought a border war. Now they are in a standoff over an area disputed by China and Bhutan, the Himalayan kingdom whose claim is supported by India. The two countries’ latest struggle is over which one will be able to formally tie the ancient practice of Tibetan medicine to its national patrimony. The prize: international cachet and the possibility of significant commercial rewards.
...
China’s recent UNESCO application said that Tibetan hot-spring and herbal-bath therapies — known as lum medicinal bathing — were “developed by the Tibetan people” and are popular across much of western China, including the Tibet Autonomous Region'.
Unfortunately neither seems intent on the following, even though it seems a very Himal practice. Of the yesteryears?

The district of Myagdi central Nepal counts itself lucky. The Himalayan Times (March 19):
'Fourteen new sources of hot springs have been identified at various places in Myagdi district.
“Five new sources of hot springs were found along the Maygdi River bank at Beni
Municipality-13 in the district and nine others along the river bank of Kali Gandaki,” said Birendraman Shakya, Chair of Singa Tatopani Kunda  Management Committee.
The water from the hot springs is said to contain several minerals as calcium, magnesium and potassium. Because of the presence of these minerals, the hot springs, which measure to over 50 degree Celsius,  are believed to relieve ailments linked with joints, gastritis and  skin.
“Most of the newly identified thermal springs fall in the Annapurna trekking circuit and may serve as tourist destinations as trekkers can enjoy taking a dip in the hot spring,” said Shakya.
On an average, over 20,000 people take a bath in the old hot springs in the district annually, shared Shakya, adding that the newly-found thermal springs will have an upgrade.
There are over 32 identified hot springs across the country'.

Stripped

Пусть все будут счастливы, особенно сплетники, завистники и недоброжелатели ) #india #kheerganga #himalayas #православнаяатмосфера #himachalpradesh фильтрами убила небесно-голубую водичку..

There's less and less time in my life for updating previous posts unfortunately, so let's look especially at some photo's popping up recently.

Alphabetically?
As there's nothing available from Afghanistan, Bhutan or China (not really, China's contributions fall under Sichuan and Tibet, following), let's start with India
First off, the ever beautiful Kheerganga (above), this time the women's side (bathing is strictly gender divided), somehow they need to be protected from some of the most beautiful views of any soak on this globe.
Lower down the vales of the Himal (we're looking at the second photo), soaks are more visited and less picturesque. Always like a simple picture with a nice personal story.

#Gangnani desperately clings to a mountainside en route Gangotri, as if a gust of wind could carry it away. It's a tiny hamlet, famed for its #hotspring. In the #ladies bath house, the steaming #water gushes down a narrow rock face and into a cement #pool. Wisps of steam curl from its surface into the crisp air. While we stripped and entered the water as if in a spa, for others it was a religious experience. They were here to be blessed by one holy arm of the Ganga. A quick dip in the early morning, a hand placed at the feet of the deity and then the practiced task of draping their #saris.

Somewhat of anomaly between the gorgeous natural soaks, just a picture to show the new breed of Chinese soaking for the elite sites: tasteful, but little character (?).

Then below), back to nature: they hardly get better than these few from Siberia"s Kamchatka peninsula. Natural, beautifully located and remote enough to drop the suit, if that's how you like to soak.

Ritual
Hot spring near Bulunkul. From siconquesoporfavor:
The first destination a remote hill side shack that housed a warmish spring with, strangely enough, a bathtub built in for the water to run through. The water wasn’t that warm but blocked from the wind we took a dip anyway amongst the discarded razor blades the local sheppherds use to shave with and the shabby shack effect is great for a half hour soak after not having a shower last night.
To finish off this entry a couple of rambling affairs which have remoteness and naturalness as common factors as well.
Above a hot spring near Bulunkul (Tajikistan), following a soak from near Tidrum (I think, located not too far away from Tibet's Lhasa) and rounding off with some (hot) pot affairs.

A short intermezzo, I seem to have less and less time.

But during the last few months I've picked up the odd photo here or there. Well, mostly from instagram.

Starting off in the northeast, the wintery spheres of Russia's Kamchatka peninsula combines some fire for the ice.
